Background
Beginning in 2007, OACCA has partnered with several organizations to host a summit for and by youth aging out of foster care. Partners include: Public Children Services Association of Ohio, Foster Care Alumni Association, Ohio Family Care Association, and the Ohio Independent Living Association. The summit creates an environment for foster care youth and alumni to dialogue with child welfare professionals, and exchange insights about competencies needed to live a healthy, safe and productive life as an adult. We celebrate and promote current “Best Practices in Ohio” and offer practical information for participants to apply in their work and/or personal lives.
